Master in Dental Traumatology and Autotransplantation 2027

Academic program description

The Master Program in Dental Traumatology is a comprehensive, postgraduate-level educational program designed to provide dentists and dental specialists with advanced theoretical knowledge and clinical decision-making skills in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of traumatic dental injuries (TDI). Structured over 2 academic years and delivered through online synchronous sessions and on-site hands on workshops examination process and thesis presentation, the program integrates biological principles, evidence-based clinical protocols, and multidisciplinary treatment planning in accordance with current international guidelines.

The curriculum follows a logical progression from foundational concepts and biological responses to trauma, through the diagnosis and management of hard dental and soft tissue injuries, pulpal and periodontal complications, aesthetic rehabilitation, pediatric trauma, orthodontic considerations, long-term restorative and implant-based solutions and a special focus on Autotransplantation. Emphasis is placed on critical appraisal of contemporary literature, guideline-driven care (IADT), and case-based learning to strengthen clinical reasoning and prognostic assessment.

A distinctive feature of the program is its strong interdisciplinary orientation, incorporating endodontics, periodontology, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, restorative dentistry, and public health perspectives. Ethical, medico-legal, and psychosocial dimensions of dental trauma are interwoven throughout the curriculum to ensure holistic and patient-centered care.

Upon successful completion of the program participants will be able to independently assess and manage traumatic dental injuries across different age groups, formulate comprehensive treatment plans, prevent and manage complications, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. The program is designed for clinicians seeking advanced expertise in Dental Traumatology, as well as for those aiming to develop a focused clinical or academic interest in this evolving field.
